U.S. firm launches new technology for Nigeria's petrochemical industry

As a way of strengthening skills of process operators working in Nigeria’s refinery and chemical industry, the USA Commercial Service Nigeria has launched a new training simulation solution. 

 The simulation solution was produced by New Jersey, USA-based Simulation Solutions, Incorporated. Simulation Solutions is a provider of PC-based dynamic simulation training programs for process operators in the refinery and chemical industries, as well as for government and academia.   

 The company’s INSTO 5-Step Process Technology Operator Training for professionals has been used by downstream oil firms all over the world to improve significantly plant efficiencies. 

 Speaking at the event, held in Lagos, U.S. Consul General, John Bray, said that for Nigeria to overcome its current economic challenges, it must find ways to diversify its economy while improving firm-level productivity. He urged participants to actively engage with Simulation Solutions to improve their organizations’ bottom-line profitability.  

 President of Simulation Solutions, Inc, Don Glaser and Project Engineer, Matthew Garvey, showcased the Simulation Solution’s patented training programs, which combine collaborative classroom techniques with innovative simulator exercises to achieve a “Hands-On/Minds-On” work ethic among students. “U.S. Commercial Service in Nigeria will continue its support for Simulation Solutions and its Nigeria partners as they roll out training programs at interested organizations across the country. 

 “The Foreign Commercial Service of the U.S. government works to promote the expansion of U.S. trade and investment to Nigeria through support of business partnerships between American and Nigerian companies”, he said.

Fuel subsidy: Why refineries are not working – Neliaku

  A former Senior Special Assistant to the President (Office of the First Lady), Ike Neliaku, has said that refineries across the country are not working because some persons deliberately frustrated it for selfish gains. Ike in a chat DAILY POST on Saturday, described the state of the nation’s refineries as a shame, alleging that despite so much money that was stolen, the refineries are yet to work. He lamented that the NIPR was not consulted before the removal of subsidy was announced by President Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023.
