Sports-Kevin De Bruyne forced off just 22 minutes into Premier League season with new injury blow

The midfielder, City's captain on the night, pulled up with a problem just after the 20th minute of the match at Turf Moor, and was quickly comforted by  Erling Haaland  and Bernardo Silva as he crouched with his hands on his knees. De Bruyne handed the captain's armband to  Kyle Walker  and was replaced by Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who came on for his City Premier League debut. News:MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed that 9 players will leave the club when their contracts expire this summer.

   Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is the biggest name amongst the departures revealed on Thursday afternoon. Joining Borthwick-Jackson out of the door are Aidan Barlow, Alex Fojticek, Ethan Hamilton, Dion McGhee, Demetri Mitchell, Kieran O’Hara, Largie Ramazani and George Tanner. United  said: “We would like to thank the departing players for their contributions during their time at the club and wish them the very best of luck for the future.”          However, the nine players leaving  have all been offered a “support package” which includes a return to  Carrington for pre-season training.

Plateau United FC wins NPFL 2016/17 season

Kennedy Boboye has led the Rwang Pam side to glory - the first time that the Peace Boys have been crowned Nigerian champions. Plateau United have won the Nigeria Professional Football League title after defeating Enugu Rangers 2-0 on Saturday. The Peace Boys only needed a win to secure the title, having held a one-point lead over MFM FC, who lost 2-1 at El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri. Any slip would have been severely punished, as the Olukoya Warriors would have lifted the title in other circumstances. Goals from Emeka Umeh and Benjamin Turba, however, secured the points that the Jos side needed to lift the title. Their campaign has been one of effective persistent excellence since the commencement of the season. Moreover, Plateau United are also in place to complete a historic double, having reached Federation’s Cup Round of 16. They will tackle Doma United in their next game.g
